Meri Was Hoping Kody Would Put Up More Of A Fight Over Her Move

Kody Changed The Brown Family’s Easter Traditions To Fit Robyn

It came to light that the Brown family’s Easter traditions had been one specific way prior to Robyn’s entrance into the family, but Kody changed the family traditions to fit her needs. Though Robyn said she understood the Browns didn’t really celebrate the holiday when she married into the family, Kody reassured her that they could meet her needs.

According to Christine, Kody was so in love with Robyn that he changed their family structure and allowed an Easter-Passover hybrid holiday into the mix, making sure Robyn and her kids had the holiday they wanted.

With the drama between Kody, Janelle, and Christine, Kody’s relationships with two-thirds of his kids has been pushed to the limit and potentially tainted. Though Kody’s older kids have minds of their own, understanding that their mothers have been treated somewhat poorly when it comes to Kody and their relationships has been hard. Kody, for his side of things, shared that while it hurts him not to have relationships with many of his kids, he would be “okay with having Robyn and her kids” as his only family. Kody said it wouldn’t be ideal, but he would be able to handle it.

Meri Was Hoping Kody Would Put Up More Of A Fight Over Her Move

Sister Wives_ What We Know About Meri Brown's Life Before The Show

During Sister Wives season 18 episode 8, Meri revealed to Kody that she’d be relocating her clothing business to Utah, where her B&B is. The move would mean Meri would be in Utah more often than she’d be in Flagstaff. When Meri told Kody, explaining that she wouldn’t be leaving him but would be spending less time in Arizona, Kody didn’t have much of a reaction. It didn’t appear like Kody cared about Meri’s move at all, which bothered her. Meri revealed on Sister Wives that she was hoping for more of a reaction from Kody, or at least an acknowledgment that it would be a tough pill to swallow.

Kody Feared Christine Had Too Much Influence Over Janelle

Despite knowing he hadn’t reached out to Janelle on his own, Kody was upset that Janelle hadn’t called him after their date on her birthday. While Janelle explained to Christine that she’d enjoyed her date with Kody, she said it was more like a meal out with a friend than a date with her husband. Kody, on the other hand, had enjoyed the date and was hoping to continue to talk to Janelle. He explained his hesitation was around the fact that Janelle and Christine were close, and that meant Christine could have more pull surrounding Janelle’s opinions. Kody feared Christine could poison the well on him for Janelle.

Meri Spent Time With Kody & Robyn’s Kids

A happy reprieve from the drama, Meri invited Robyn and her younger kids over to give them some time to play in her sprawling backyard. Meri, who finds herself happiest when she gets to have family experiences, was excited to host the kids and get to talk to them. Robyn shared that she truly enjoys her time visiting with Meri, and was happy to find that rather than looking for a new place in Flagstaff, Meri had re-signed her lease for her current home. It seemed like a glimmer of hope that both women were looking for.

Kody Called His Youngest Children With Robyn His “Second Chance”

After discussing the fact that Kody would leave Janelle behind in order to head home to Robyn and their children, Kody defended his position when he shared that he felt his kids with Robyn were his second chance at parenting. This sentiment was confusing, as the Sister Wives patriarch has 18 total children, nearly 15 of them who grew up with him taking care of them. While it wasn’t always plausible for him to get all his kids to school and help with everything, every day, the fact that he treats his youngest children like his shot at being a good parent is hurtful to his older kids.
