General Hospital (GH) spoilers hint that more pieces of the Pautauk puzzle will be revealed, as fans recently learned that Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober) is clearly the mystery boss behind Mason Gatlin’s (Nathanyael Grey) orders.
A recent scene stunned fans, as dialogue indicated that Austin grew up knowing the criminal and now takes orders from him (among other things). But how are they related?
General Hospital Spoilers – Is Cyrus Renault The Good Doctor’s Stepdad Or His Uncle?
GH spoilers state that while much was answered during the week of August 21st, there are still so many question marks. It’s clear that Cyrus is the mystery boss, and that he and Austin know each other very well.
In fact, the good doctor grew up with Renault around, but only seemed to see the mob boss sporadically and around Christmas time.
However, some other interesting hints about their relationship were that Austin’s mother would plummet out of depression upon Cyrus’s arrival and the criminal paid for his medical education.
He “owes” Cyrus a lot, but he also feels he’s “paid his debt” tenfold.
This information could hint that Cyrus is Mason’s dad (as he is part of the equation and was mentioned during the scene), making Renault his uncle (through marriage).
Then again, perhaps Cyrus was Charity Gatlin’s (Austin’s mom) husband and just happened to bond better with his nephew Mason than his stepson. After all, criminal birds of a feather tend to flock together.
GH Spoilers – Could He Be His “Real” Dad?
GH loves nothing more than a good old-fashioned paternity plot twist so there’s always the chance that Cyrus is Austin’s bio father, something Charity kept secret all these years.
Although Jimmy Lee Holt (Steve Bond) was far from being a saint, he was also a Quartermaine, and Austin’s mom may have told him that Jimmy was his biological dad to keep him out of harm’s way, as Cyrus is so involved in organized crime.
Much like Elizabeth Webber (Rebecca Herbst) once aimed to protect Jake Spencer (Hudson West) by telling him Lucky Spencer (Jonathan Jackson) was his dad, not Jason Morgan (Steve Burton), Charity’s goal may have been to protect Austin from his true family tree.
Looks like he got roped into it all, regardless.
