Blue Bloods Season 14 Episode 7 Recap: Eddie Janko and Reagan’s Violent Secret Exposed

The Reagan family is known for their fearlessness whether fighting for justice in the legal system or protecting each other from life’s challenges. In “On the Ropes,” Frank Reagan takes on a different kind of fight. He discovers that his friend and colleague, Sid Gorley, plans to participate in a boxing match known as a smoker held for NYPD officers. Concerned for Sid’s safety, Frank tries to intervene to prevent the match. Despite some fans finding Frank’s attitude irritating, he ultimately succeeds in persuading Sid to cancel the smoker.

During a discussion with his family, it’s revealed that many of them have experience in the ring from their police careers. Surprisingly, Eddie Janko Reagan, who knocked out her opponent in her only match, is the family’s champion boxer. Eddie’s toughness surprises her family, but she has consistently shown her competitiveness among the physically strong Reagans despite her petite stature. Eddie is known for her strength and intelligence, often using both to outsmart and apprehend criminals in Blue Bloods. Some viewers criticize her occasional hot-headedness as immature, suggesting that the writers have not fully developed her character. Nonetheless, her ability to hold her own against larger opponents astonishes the rest of the Reagans.

In “On the Ropes,” it is revealed that other family members, except for Frank and Danny Reagan, have boxing experience. Danny received two black eyes and lost twice, while Frank also had a challenging experience in the ring. The late Joe Reagan, however, had a successful record, winning both of his matches, including one against Danny. The Reagan family’s willingness to face physical challenges demonstrates their fearless nature.
