Days of Our Lives Recap: Wednesday, August 16 – Victor’s Body Found – Madonna Concert Cover Story – Gabi Quizzes Rachel

Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Wednesday, August 16, reveals that Gwen von Leuschner (Emily O’Brien) reeled over Leo Stark’s (Greg Rikaart) sudden appearance in Iceland and demanded to know what he was doing there.

Dimitri von Leuschner (Peter Porte) pretended that he just let Leo in and said he was waiting to find out the same thing.

Leo blurted out that it was Madonna’s birthday, but Gwen clearly didn’t think that was a good enough reason to come all the way to Iceland and crash her honeymoon.

However, Leo pretended there was a very exclusive birthday concert that happened to be in the same city.

Gwen got excited and wanted the three of them to go together, but Dimitri admitted he didn’t really care about Madonna’s music.

Although Dimitri said Gwen and Leo could go without him, Leo insisted there were no more tickets left and claimed he just stopped by to gloat.

Gwen was annoyed, but she accepted that explanation as Leo headed out the door.

Back in Salem on Wednesday’s Days episode, Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn) stopped by Alex Kiriakis’ (Robert Scott Wilson) apartment and apologized for warning him away from Stephanie Johnson (Abigail Klein).

Alex assumed Stephanie had given Chad an earful, but he accepted the apology and got reassurance that Stephanie could see him whenever she wanted.

Stephanie showed up and teased Chad about wanting to take a tour of Alex’s bedroom, but he was a good sport about it and kissed her before exiting.

Once Chad was gone on Wednesday’s DOOL show, Stephanie confirmed that she was on board with working on Yuri Kasnov’s (Josh Flagg) project.

Alex was about to get in touch with Yuri when Justin Kiriakis (Wally Kurth) called with the grim news about Victor Kiriakis’ (John Aniston) plane going down.

After Alex filled Stephanie in, he offered to reach out to Steve Johnson (Stephen Nichols) and see what he could learn from Shane Donovan (Charles Shaughnessy) at the ISA.

In Rachel Black’s (Finley Rose Finley) bedroom at the townhouse, John Black (Drake Hogestyn) found Brady Black (Eric Martsolf) sulking and struggling to accept that his daughter wasn’t coming home.

John was proud of Brady for not going on the run with Rachel, so Brady admitted John got through to him with his warning.

Brady didn’t want Rachel to hate him for forcing her into that kind of life.

Once Brady admitted to making another bad decision instead, he explained how he kissed Chloe after he dropped off Rachel.

Justin eventually called to reveal that Victor’s plane wreckage had been found in the Mediterranean, so Brady decided to go support Maggie Kiriakis (Suzanne Rogers).

Speaking of Maggie, she also got updates from Justin on the downed jet and struggled with growing fears since things looked so bleak for Victor.

There were also questions about why Victor was even flying over the Mediterranean since Bo Brady’s (Peter Reckell) facility was nowhere near Greece.

Brady tried to comfort Maggie when he arrived, but John ultimately came to deliver another round of bad news from Shane at the ISA.

John admitted Victor’s body had been found, so Maggie sobbed while Justin and Brady teared up as well.

In Alex’s apartment again, Stephanie got off the phone with Steve following his own conversation with Shane.

Once Stephanie confirmed that Victor’s body had been recovered, Alex broke down in tears as she held him.

At the DiMera mansion on Wednesday’s Days episode, Rachel wore a tiara and thanked Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk) for her boba drink along with the new toys upstairs.

When Rachel mentioned something about Dimitri’s sleepover with Lady Whistleblower, Kristen insisted that was a secret.

Rachel wanted to know why she had to stay tight-lipped, so Kristen explained that Dimitri had a new wife named Gwen and that she couldn’t find out.

Since Rachel still didn’t understand, Kristen insisted that all the toys and other fun stuff Rachel wanted didn’t come cheap.

If Rachel wanted to keep it coming, she needed to keep her mouth shut.

Rachel realized this was about money on Wednesday’s Days episode and assured Kristen that she would keep the secret.

Around the corner, Gabi DiMera (Camila Banus) overheard part of the conversation, so she tried to quiz Rachel once she was alone with her.

Gabi insisted she was family now that she was married to Stefan DiMera (Brandon Barash) and acted like that meant she could know the truth.

Rachel disagreed since Gwen was married to Dimitri – and she definitely couldn’t know!

Gabi ultimately suggested that if she played 20 questions and guessed the secret, it wouldn’t be like blabbing.

Kristen didn’t say anything about not playing a game, so Rachel got on board.

Unfortunately, Gabi’s plan hit a snag when Kristen returned and heard a game was in progress. Kristen asked if she could play, so Gabi’s plan was thwarted.
