General Hospital Spoilers: Are Carly & John Getting an Enemies to Lovers Story – Can Jason Handle It?

General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that Carly Spencer’s (Laura Wright) irritation with John “Jagger” Cates (Adam Harrington) has turned into full-blown rage. John and Carly have become entertaining sparring partners, but what do GH writers ultimately have in mind for them?

Laura Wright recently talked to SOD about Carly’s love interest options and was adamant that Carly had no romantic future with Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) – at least in her opinion.

Of course, it’s possible the writers will circle back to Jason and Carly’s romance anyway, but let’s just trust Wright on this for a moment and take Jason off the table.

Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) certainly has no intention of reuniting with Carly anytime soon – and although Wright liked the idea of a Carly and John Brennan (Charles Mesure) pairing, the show doesn’t seem eager to release Brennan from prison.

There are good reasons to think John aka “Jagger” might become Carly’s love interest instead despite all this erupting tension between them.

In fact, that tension might be a sign of some attraction developing deep under the surface.

When characters don’t feel anything at all for each other, a pairing can’t work.

However, when you’ve got two people with huge issues and some fierce outbursts happening, there are big emotions in play – emotions that can take a sizzling turn in the right context.

The “enemies to lovers” trope is always fun, so is that where things are headed between John and Carly? It could be an exciting storyline, especially since Jason wouldn’t be on board at all!

If Carly falls for John down the road after everything he’s put Jason through, it could create a rift between Carly and Jason.

Although Jason and Carly are always going to have an important connection, their relationship could take some hits and give them some drama to work through.

John could be a great source of that drama if he indeed gets paired up with Carly.

Our predictions point to Carly and John’s conflict getting worse before it gets better, but the situation could change somewhere down the line!
