General Hospital Spoilers: Monday, January 23 Update – Josslyn Confesses Betrayal – Spencer’s Daddy Test – Esme’s Tough Call
General Hospital (GH) spoilers update for Monday, January 23, teases that Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) will get backed into a corner now that Cameron Webber (William Lipton) has paid her an unexpected visit. Cam can see for himself that Josslyn has been busy with Dex Heller (Evan Hofer), who isn’t wearing a shirt and just answered the door.
Once Cameron asks if Dex is why they split, Josslyn will admit he was part of the equation.
When Cam questions whether they were intimate before the breakup happened, Joss will confess her betrayal.
While Cameron gets his heart broken all over again, he’ll also face Josslyn’s dire request.
It might end in disaster if Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) found out about Joss being romantically involved with Dex, so she’ll hope she can count on Cam’s silence.
Speaking of Sonny, he’ll have a discussion with Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Chavez) and react to some huge news.
Spencer may offer updates on the custody case and how he wants to take charge of his little brother or sister.
It looks like Sonny may put Spencer through a bit of a daddy test – just to see if he has what it takes to serve as a parent.
Spencer will have a lot of responsibility if he successfully takes this baby away from Esme Prince (Avery Pohl) and Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma), but he’ll think this is something worth fighting for.
At GH, Ava Jerome (Maura West) will have an overwhelming sense of déjà vu around Mason (Nathanyael Grey).
Once it finally clicks that Mason was there the night Ava was attacked, she’ll cause plenty of drama in Austin Gatlin Holt’s (Roger Howarth) office.
Austin may admit he doesn’t truly believe his cousin hooked Ava, but she could still use his presence that night as leverage.
Since Ava can tell Mason is bothering Austin, she might urge Mason to leave the doc alone or else she’ll point the cops in his direction.
Meanwhile, Laura Collins (Genie Francis) will hear Nikolas’ complaints about losing Wyndemere and most of Spoon Island in general.
Since Laura understands Ava’s pain, she may think Nikolas needs to suck it up and accept this is a mess of his own making.
Next, Carolyn Webber (Denise Crosby) will hope to move beyond the past and bond with Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst).
Update News: Joshua Benard, Son Of GH Star Maurice Benard, Suffers Medical Crisis
That’ll be a tough task since Liz is still struggling with abandonment issues and the delayed consequences of what happened when she was young.
Elizabeth will feel like Carolyn put Jeff Webber’s (William Moses) needs over her own, but Carolyn will just want a chance to share her perspective and help Liz understand her side.
Although Carolyn now knows it was a mistake to repress Liz’s terrible memories, she honestly thought she was doing the right thing at the time.
Carolyn and Jeff also thought it was the right call to keep their distance, but they’ll hope to be in Liz’s life now that the whole truth is out.
At Spring Ridge, Heather Webber (Alley Mills) will once again try to charm Esme Prince (Avery Pohl) and make her think they’re friends.
We’ll see Heather’s protective side on full display again, so that could raise more suspicions for Esme.
Even so, Esme could really use a pal or something close to one. As weird and unhinged as Heather seems, Esme will at least have someone willing to be nice to her.
Esme obviously won’t realize Heather is her biological mother, but that revelation will come out when the time is right.
Until then, Esme will mull over whether she should trust Heather and make a tough call.
Finally, Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) will hope a deadline might motivate Heather to score hook-related info from Ryan Chamberlain (Jon Lindstrom) and deliver it to the cops.
Heather will be in a tight spot as she works to steer suspicion away from herself, especially with the clock ticking.
Of course, Heather will also want to protect Esme and will stick around Spring Ridge with her until they can make a joint getaway.
